Peterborough vs Stockport Predictions
- Peterborough have scored in seven consecutive games in all competitions.
- Both teams have scored in five of Stockport’s last seven away games.
- County have the best road record in League One with 14 points from seven games.
Both teams can strike at London Road
Stockport sit at the summit of the League One table but their lead at the top is a slender one ahead of Thursday’s trip to improving Peterborough United.
Just three points separate County from AFC Wimbledon in seventh spot and they suffered a setback in their last league outing as they saw a four-match winning run ended with a 3-0 defeat at home to Luton.
Stockport should be able to get back on track at London Road but the better betting angle could be backing both of these teams to score.
Peterborough are in the relegation places but there have been signs of a revival of late. Posh have won their last three games across all competitions and have also scored in seven consecutive games. After failing to score in their opening two home games of the season, United have only drawn a blank once in their last eight at London Road and hit five against Wimbledon in their last league game at this venue.
Stockport have conceded in five of their seven League One trips and across all competitions they’ve managed just two away clean sheets in 10 attempts. County have scored 13 goals across their seven away league games so both of these in-form attacks look capable of getting on the scoresheet.
The Hatters are the strongest travellers in the division and they should be able to claim maximum points even if a clean sheet is too big of an ask. Dave Challinor’s men have won four of their seven league trips, losing just once, and a 2-1 win for the visitors is the correct score prediction as Posh have only conceded more than twice in one of their last 10 games.
Kyle Wootton is Stockport’s leading scorer this season and he’s scored in two of County’s last three away League One fixtures, so he stands out as a candidate for an anytime effort on Thursday.
