Poland can reignite qualification bid

Poland sit fourth in Group I with four points from two games but they should be able to leapfrog Albania with a victory on Thursday.

The Poles could finish the day in second spot if England beat Hungary, and they remain well placed to reach Qatar next year despite a mixed start.

Albania have six points from three games but those victories came against Andorra and San Marino and Poland are a huge step up in class.

Poland have won eight of their last 13 home games, drawing four and losing one, and they can claim all three points here.  Albania have lost just one of their last eight away fixtures, against the Czech Republic, but the only result of any real note during that spell was a 0-0 draw in Wales.  

The visitors are capable of raising their game however, and a home win with both teams to score is my tip in this match-up.  Albania have scored in two of their last three away losses, going down 3-1 in the Czech Republic in their last game on the road and 4-1 in France back in 2019, while Poland have managed just one clean sheet in their last 10 games and a 3-1 home win is my correct score selection.
