Poland vs Senegal Predictions

It’s been a long wait for Poland and Senegal, but on Tuesday it’s finally their chance to get their World Cup campaigns underway in what could be a very competitive group. Colombia and Japan both have the capacity to qualify from the group, so every result here is crucial.

Poland qualified easily for the World Cup, winning eight of their ten matches and only failing to find the net once. That failure was a bad one though, as they were hammered 4-0 at the hands of a ruthless Denmark side.

Fortunately, their warm up friendlies for the tournament have gone a bitter better than that. They thrashed Lithuania 4-0 in their final game before the tournament started, and that followed a 2-2 draw with Chile that brought a lot of positives with it. Of course, the major negative is the fact that they shipped two goals there.

This is the latest in a string of rather poor defensive performances from Poland. They have kept just one clean sheet in their last five games, and with Kamil Glik out injured their defensive line looks even weaker. Senegal don’t exactly have a bad attacking lineup either.

Sadio Mane is obviously the star attraction for a Senegal side playing in just their second World Cup. But alongside him they have the likes of Moussa Sow and Keita Balde, not to mention a quartet of Premier League midfielders and the towering Kalidou Koulibaly at centre back.

The African side beat South Korea 2-0 in their final warm up game, and they were actually quite good in their 2-1 loss to Croatia earlier in the month. They have only lost one of their last ten games as well, so Poland could be up against it on Tuesday.

We’re expecting goals here. Both teams look very top heavy in terms of talent, and the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Sadio Mane can single-handedly change a game. Poland have seen a huge 13 goals in their last three matches too, scoring nine and conceding four. This makes a Both Teams to Score bet look the best option here.

We’re expecting it to be a tight affair as well though. Senegal may be difficult to beat, but they have drawn five of their last ten games. This makes a Draw look an attractive bet, along with a 1-1 correct score predictions. We’re also backing Sadio Mane to find the net on Tuesday, after an excellent campaign for Liverpool in which he netted 20 goals.

Poland Predicted Lineup: Szczesny, Piszczek, Pazdan, Cionek, Jedrzejczyk, Rybus, Linetty, Krychowiak, Zielinski, Grosicki, Lewandowski

Senegal Predicted Lineup: K. N’Diaye, Gassama, Koulibaly, Kara, Sabaly, Kouyate, Gueye, B. N’Diaye, Mane, Balde, Sow
