Bounce back needed for hosts

The hosts are coming into this one off the back of a heavy defeat away to Exeter and when you lose a game in that manner, you want another opportunity to get out onto the pitch as soon as possible so that you can put it right. I think we could see that here in what has the makings of a potential thriller. Port Vale have scored in nine of their last 10 home games stretching back to last season but they have failed to keep a clean sheet across their last three.

Despite a shaky end to the last campaign, Rotherham United are actually undefeated across their previous four competitive matches and they will arrive here with confidence. However, the ‘Millers’ have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five with both teams scoring in all of those too. They should be able to get on the scoresheet but the bigger question is whether they can keep Port Vale out.
