Porto vs Maccabi Tel Aviv Predictions
Porto will look to build upon a strong start to their Champions League group stage performances with a convincing win over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday night. The current Portuguese Primeira Liga leaders opened their campaign with a hard fought 2-2 draw in Ukraine against Dinamo Kiev. They followed that up with a 2-1 win over Chelsea. They’ll hope that those two teams take points off each other in Group G’s other action while they face Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Israeli side that are generally considered to be minnows in the group.
It hasn’t been an easy task for Maccabi. They were crushed 4-0 in their opening match against Chelsea and they had little luck in their next game, losing 2-0 at home against Dinamo Kiev. Still, their form in domestic football has been positive and they’ll come into this game looking to clog up the middle of the field and slow Porto down.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Porto will break Maccabi down
Maccabi Tel Aviv have conceded six goals through two games, while Porto have scored four in two. That’s significantly above the average needed for to break the 2.5 Goals barrier.
2. Porto will break their opponents down
Maccabi’s defensive weaknesses have been exposed in recent games and Porto are arguably the best organised attacking side, they can push the ball wide and they have they’ve proven that they have the clinical attacking edge, even without Jackson Martinez.
3. Odds
The odds on a Porto win or any sort of handicap are not attractive. However, we feel pretty good about the Over 2.5 Goals market and the line, while short, provides enough of a return to make betting worthwhile.
