Portsmouth vs QPR Predictions

QPR have struggled at the back this season and both teams to score is the best bet for Friday’s Championship clash between Portsmouth and QPR at Fratton Park.

Seventh-placed QPR are 14 places above Portsmouth in the table, with the hosts having won five and lost ten of their 21 games this season. QPR have won ten, drawn four and lost eight of their 22 matches.

QPR have been winners in five of their last seven Championship games, but they have lost their last two away matches. Two weeks ago, Portsmouth were 2-1 winners over Blackburn in their most recent home game, and they have won the last two head-to-heads with QPR.

QPR were 4-1 winners against Leicester in their last Championship game, keeping up the recent trend of matches with both teams scoring. QPR, who were priced as 13/10 favourites to win the game, triumphed with something to spare.

Both teams have been struggling to keep clean sheets of late. QPR have conceded 34 goals this season in the Championship, an average of 1.55 per game from 22 games, while Portsmouth have failed to keep a clean sheet in 16 of their last 20 matches.

With there having been over 2.5 goals in 14 of QPR’s 22 Championship games this season and seven of Portsmouth’s ten reverses coming by a single goal, the 2-1 away win for QPR looks a decent correct-score bet.
