After eight wins from nine in all competitions, red hot Villarreal look impossible to oppose for their midweek trip to face strugglers Alaves.

The Yellow Submarine secured their passage to the Semi-Finals of the Europa League last week to set up a mouth-watering tie against manager Unai Emery’s former club Arsenal, and they celebrated in style on Sunday by smashing five goals past Valencian rivals Levante.

That win moved Villarreal up to fifth in the table and there’s nothing to suggest that their momentum is going to be halted at Mendizorroza this Wednesday night.

Alaves beat Huesca 1-0 here at the weekend but that marked Babazorros’ first win in nine after losing six of their previous eight.

Javier Calleja’s side didn’t cause Villarreal too many problems in September’s reverse at Estadio de la Ceramica which The Yellow Submarine comfortably won 3-1, and we’re forecasting a repeat result and score-line for this clash with the visitors lashing in 20 goals across their last eight matches.
