      Preston vs Ipswich Predictions

Preston North End’s hopes of reaching the Championship playoffs have been slipping away recently, but they have nobody but themselves to blame really. Their 4-1 thrashing at West Brom last weekend extended their losing streak to four league matches, which is quite a turnaround considering they were unbeaten in 12 prior to that.

This has pushed The Lilywhites down to 12th in the table, leaving them a disappointing eight points adrift of the last of the playoff spots and with only 12 points left to play for.

Good Friday marks the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways though, because they go up against an Ipswich side who have confirmed their relegation to the third tier of English football.

The Tractor Boys did pick up a point at home to Birmingham last time out, but four games from the end of the season they find themselves 14 points off safety and rock bottom of the table.

Ipswich, in all fairness, have made themselves difficult to beat over the last couple of months. However, their lack of winning mentality has really hampered them this season, with their tally of four wins being half that of 23rd placed Bolton.

Away from home they have won just one of their last 15 Championship games, and 10 of these have ended in defeat. They have scored a mere 33 goals in the league this season too, and considering they’re facing a Preston side who have only scored twice in their last five home games, this could be a rather dull affair.

In fact, Preston have seen three or more goals in just one of their last nine home games, while Ipswich have in only four of their last 12 away matches. This makes a bet of Under 2.5 Goals look very appealing, so we’re backing that along with a 1-0 win for the hosts on Friday.
