Topsy turvy Preston may struggle

Although Preston occupy a mid-table position that could become a springboard for a top-six push, a run of three defeats across their last four league games has hampered their progress in that regard.

It’s been four months since Preston last played out a stalemate in league action, with ten defeats and nine draws seeing the Lilywhites taking something of an ‘all or nothing’ approach to their league outings.

Playing at home won’t give Preston much confidence either, they’re currently on the league’s longest streak of consecutive home defeats (L5), conceding a whopping 13 times in the process.

Back the Hatters to put in a top performance

Currently sitting in the heady heights of fourth place, Luton were disappointed not to win away to Coventry over the weekend despite hitting the opener.

Even so, they’re unbeaten in four straight away league games (W3, D1) and have picked up more travelling points than all but the runaway top-two, Sheffield United and Burnley ahead of the midweek round.

We’re backing Luton here but for a bit of insurance, we’ll take them in the draw no bet market. After failing to see out the win at Coventry last time out and Preston’s incredible streak without a stalemate, it could be best to insure against that inevitable result cropping up in this game.
