PSG have Messi back to face struggling Angers

With Lens hot on their tail, PSG will be aiming to maintain their four-point Ligue 1 lead when they host struggling Angers on Wednesday night. The champions’ 2-1 loss to Les Sang et Or on New Year’s Day is a reminder that any lack of focus could be punished during the coming months.

But PSG should be back to full strength for this clash with rock-bottom Angers with Neymar and Marco Verratti back from suspension while Lionel Messi is also likely to feature for the first time since the World Cup.

Backing the hosts to lead at the interval and full time seems like a good option here given Angers have often found themselves behind this season. A 3-0 PSG win is preferred for correct score purposes as the hosts are averaging just shy of three goals per game across their last five at home while Angers have not scored against a top-half team on the road in 2022-23.
