Plymouth Argyle Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Plymouth produced a much-improved performance in a 1-1 draw with Hull City last weekend and can secure at least a point against a QPR side that will be without two key players after their battling 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Plymouth were not prolific away from home last season, but they recorded 32 shots against Cheltenham in the Carabao Cup last week and another 16 at home to Hill in the league,k so things seem to be moving in the right direction for them to get goals. QPR have kept only thee clean sheets in their last 14 home league games, but have failed to score in only three of those games so a 1-1 scoreline could be on the cards.

QPR vs Plymouth Argyle Predictions

  • Plymouth produced a much-improved performance in a 1-1 draw with Hull City last weekend
  • QPR will be without two key players after their battling 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday
  • Argyle winger Morgan Whittaker scored 19 goals last season and had six shots in the 1-1 draw with Hull

Argyle are capable of making their point

QPR and Plymouth will look to maintain their early-season improvements when they clash at MATRADE Loftus Road Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The R’s lost at home to West Brom on the opening weekend of the season and were expected to struggle against Sheffield United last Saturday. But Marti Cifuentes’ men battled back from 2-0 down to claim an unlikely point with 10 men.

Jack Colback’s red card and an injury to Lucas Andersen, who has assumed the playmaking mantle in the prolonged absence of Ilias Chair, makes them look a bit vulnerable to a Plymouth side who have also made big strides since their 4-0 walloping at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday.

The Greens grew in stature during their 1-1 home draw with Hull last Saturday after Rooney benched four players and they could nick a point on this trip to the capital.

Whittaker works wonders off the wing

Wayne Rooney is still getting to grips with the squad and looks likely to add a couple more signings before the transfer window closes.

The former Birmingham City boss is not short of pace and trickery out wide with new signing Ibrahima Cissoko impressing against the Tigers while Morgan Whittaker remains the best player on the team.

Whittaker, who scored 19 Championship goals from the right-wing last season, had six shots against Hull and remains the most likely goal threat from both teams given Rangers’ injury situation.
