Rangers vs Hibernian Betting Tips & Predictions

Rangers have had an excellent season as they look to banish the demons of the last few years. They finally achieved promotion back to the Scottish Premiership after narrowly missing out last season. They didn’t leave anything to chance this year as they romped to the second flight title and ended with an 11 point lead over Falkirk.

Not only this but they managed to win the Scottish Challenge Cup the weekend after securing the Championship, and then the following weekend they dispatched of Old Firm rivals Celtic on penalties in the Scottish FA Cup semi final.

That penalty victory was their last win though. They have since lost twice and drawn twice as they took their foot off the pedal for the closing stages of the season. Rangers will now need to regain their form after a poor run and three weeks of inaction as they face a Hibernian side desperate for some success this season.

Hibs missed out on promotion last season too, and a 3-2 defeat at Falkirk last Friday has ruled them out of another promotion playoff final. The aggregate score was 5-4, and it was in typical Hibs fashion that they failed to win the match. They led the tie 4-3 on aggregate going into the final ten minutes of the second leg, but an equaliser and then a 92nd minute winner resigned them to another season in the Championship.

This defeat made it just one win in their last four matches in all competitions. The squad have only had a week to recover from the season compared to Rangers three as well, and they will need to pick their morale up from the ground after yet another nearly season.

I think this match is only going one way. Rangers are in poor form because they didn’t need any more points, whereas Hibs are in poor form because they have let the pressure get to them again. A Scottish FA Cup Final is a high pressure situation too, and a Rangers team high on confidence will make very difficult opponents. I’m fully expecting Rangers to get the win on Saturday, and odds of 4/5 for this outcome look good to me. I’m also going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 7/1.
