Rangers vs Liverpool Predictions
- Rangers have only failed to score in one of their nine home games in all competitions.
- Both teams have scored in nine of Liverpool’s 12 games.
- The Reds have just one clean sheet in five attempts on their travels.
- Roberto Firmino has three goals in his last three games.
Liverpool face Ibrox test
Rangers are still seeking their first Champions League points after three rounds of fixtures but they may struggle to get anything out of the game when Liverpool visit.
The Premier League side won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Anfield last week and Rangers are yet to score in this competition, but that may change on Tuesday.
The visitors are without Luis Diaz after he picked up an injury in the 3-2 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday, while Trent Alexander-Arnold is also a concern. Liverpool will be hoping for a reaction to that loss but they are unlikely to have it all their own way at Ibrox.
Rangers can end European goal drought
The hosts may be yet to score in the Champions League but they should be fired up for the visit of Liverpool. Rangers have only played one home game in the group stages as they lost out 3-0 to Napoli, but they did create a few chances with 10 shots in total – but just three on target.
That is the only home game this season in which Rangers have failed to score and they come up against a Liverpool side who look low on confidence. The Merseyside outfit have seen both teams score in nine of their 12 games across all competitions and have managed just two clean sheets, so both teams to score stands out as our main bet.
Liverpool can edge competitive tie
Liverpool dominated for large periods in the first meeting and ultimately they should have the quality to win on Tuesday even if they are yet to find any real form.
Rangers have struggled in the group stages with three defeats, conceding nine goals in total, and a 2-1 win for the visitors has some appeal in the correct score market as the Reds are yet to score more than twice in an away game.
Roberto Firmino may well be handed a start after coming off the bench to score against Arsenal at the weekend, taking his Premier League tally to six goals in seven games, and the Brazilian looks a candidate for a goal at anytime if he is indeed included in the first XI.
