RB Leipzig vs Arminia Bielefeld Predictions
- Leipzig are unbeaten in three since Jesse Marsch’s sacking, beating Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach in their last two home games.
- Arminia have lost their last two away games without scoring, and netted just four times on their travels this season, winning once.
- Leipzig have won six of their eight home league games this term.
Leipzig settling under new management
Since Jesse Marsch’s departure, RB Leipzig have steadied the ship with a run of two wins and a draw. New boss Domenico Tedesco has overseen a 4-1 trouncing of Monchengladbach and an unfortunate draw at Augsburg since taking the helm, and with just five points separating them from the top four, will be looking to keep the pressure on as the Bundesliga heads into its winter break.
Despite being forced to play behind closed doors again recently, Leipzig’s home form has not been a problem at any stage this campaign. In the Bundesliga, they’ve won six of eight on their own turf, while, of the 10 league goals they’ve shipped at home, seven came in losses to Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.
Arminia earned a huge win over Bochum in midweek, but remain five points from safety after winning just one of their last five. They’ve created the lowest expected goals tally in the league this season, and scored just 12 goals in their 16 matches. Arminia have also netted just four times on the road, and have been shut out on their last two away trips.
Back a home win, and a shutout
Despite their below-par season, Leipzig have created more expected goals than any Bundesliga team other than Bayern, and will expect to record a third home win in under two weeks on Saturday.
Given the dreadfully short price around the hosts to win, value could be found by backing them to win to nil, with Arminia being both the least creative and lowest scoring outfit in the division.
Leipzig, for their part, have the fourth-best defensive record in the Bundesliga, conceding 20 in 16. A comfortable 2-0 home win, therefore, looks a good correct score prediction.
