RB Leipzig vs Club Brugge Predictions

  • RB Leipzig have scored 15 and conceded 13 goals across their seven competitive matches this term (average 4.0 goals per game).
  • Club Brugge have scored in eight of their last 11 Champions League away games.
  • RB Leipzig have scored in seven of their last ten Champions League home games.

Brugge can prey on loose Leipzig

Club Brugge will travel to Germany to face an inconsistent RB Leipzig side with more than just mere hope of staying unbeaten in Champions League Group A.

Phillipe Clement’s side earned a 1-1 at home to PSG on matchday one in which the underlying stats suggest they were not the inferior side.

So a trip to Red Bull Arena shouldn’t seem so daunting for Blauw-Zwart, particularly as Leipzig have been very hit and miss already this season.

Jesse Marsch’s men emphatically brought a four-game winless run to an end with a 6-0 humbling of Hertha at the weekend.

Scoring goals has never really been an issue for them, it’s keeping them out of their own net which has been the problem – and that is something we think Club Brugge’s in-form attacking triumvirate can capitalise on.

Hans Vanaken, Noa Lang and Charles De Ketelaere are a dangerous mix of guile, pace and precision so we believe the Belgians are a good bet to get on the scoresheet against a side that has conceded an average of just less than two goals per game this season.

The visitors have scored in eight of their last 11 Champions League road trips, but also conceded in about 70% of those games too.

Both teams to score looks good value in the betting considering RB Leipzig are not exactly clean sheet specialists in this competition – registering only four in their last 20 such matches.

As far as a correct score prediction goes, we feel as though both teams could score twice in a seesaw contest this Tuesday – noting that Club Brugge scored exactly two goals in two of their three away group games last season.
