      Reading vs Brighton Predictions

Chris Hughton and his side perhaps haven’t quite got the plaudits they’ve deserved from an unbeaten start to the season which now stands at 13 matches. They will be top of the table on Saturday night whatever happens here but this is likely to be their toughest test so far.

Perhaps one of the reasons people are still not quite taking Brighton seriously as potential champions is that they are yet to win a game by more than a single goal and have relied on a number of late winners in recent weeks. In their last game they failed to break down struggling Preston at the AmEx and only one team in the top half has a worse goalscoring record than them.

Reading are another side with promotion ambitions but they slipped out of the play-off places after letting a 2 goal lead slip to lose 4-2 at Fulham last time out. They will relish the challenge of bringing Brighton’s dream start to an abrupt end though and the Madejski hasn’t been a fruitful place for sides at the top to go to this season.

Ipswich were absolutely flying when they visited last month but an Orlando Sa hat-trick saw them on the wrong end of a 5-1 thrashing and it has been downhill ever since for the Tractor Boys. Reading have also beaten many people’s title favourites Middlesbrough at home and had taken 13 points from their 5 games prior to last weekend’s defeat.

At 23/20 they are worth a punt to complete another home win over a high-flying side and burst Brighton’s bubble.

It is likely to be a close game though. Brighton are a confident side and have almost forgotten what it feels like to lose. Both teams have scored in all but one of their Championship away matches this term and against an attacking Reading side that is likely to be the case again.

Brighton have won plenty of games 2-1 this season but they might be on the wrong end of that scoreline here and you can back that to be the case at 8/1.
