Royals to see off stricken Owls

Back to back 1-0 victories over Rotherham United and Blackburn Rovers have seen Reading cement their position in the top six over the last week and the Royals can take another step towards the play-offs this Saturday when they entertain struggling Sheffield Wednesday.

Reading haven’t exactly been a model of consistency this term with 11 defeats suffered in their 34 matches to date, but Vejlko Paunovic’s charges appear to be getting their act together at the right time.

The Royals will have gleaned a great deal of confidence from consecutive wins and clean sheets and rate a bit of a steal here at around 4/5 to dispatch a Wednesday side who have lost their last five league starts.

The arrival of new boss Darren Moore will have brought some hope to Owls fans, though he couldn’t prevent a 1-2 South Yorkshire derby defeat to Rotherham in midweek, which has left Wednesday seven points adrift of safety.
