Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Predictions
- Bayern Munich have won 37 of their 43 games across all competitions this season
- The Bavarians have picked up nine wins from 10 in Europe, including a victory at PSG
- BTTS has landed in all five of Bayern’s European trips, while they’ve scored 32 goals in 10 UCL matches
- Bayern have conceded in seven of their last eight, while they’ve scored 3+ goals in eight of their last nine
Brilliant Bayern should worry Real
Real Madrid were able to upset Manchester City in the Champions League last 16, but their quarter-final tie with Bayern Munich is an entirely different test.
The Bavarians have failed to win only six of their 43 matches across all competitions this season, and they’ve won nine of their 10 Champions League assignments.
Vincent Kompany’s side have scored 32 goals across their 10 European games, 10 of which came in their drubbing of Atalanta in the last round. They’re seeking to win the treble for the third time in 13 years, and a disorganised Real side under the watch of interim boss Alvaro Arbeloa could be in trouble.
Little case for the defences
While Bayern Munich have been superb, they’ve conceded in all five of their Champions League trips this season. Brilliant attacking displays have compensated for Bayern’s backline, with the Bavarians managing only one clean sheet across their last eight matches.
The Bundesliga leaders have scored at least three times in eight of their last nine games, so goals are the way to go against a top-heavy Real side.
Vinicius Junior is rounding back into form for the Spanish giants, while Kylian Mbappe is back in the side. They’ve scored 11 times in three home European games under Arbeloa’s watch, so both sides can play their part in this one, topping the 3.5 goal line.
Stellar Olise can shine
Harry Kane missed Bayern’s 3-2 win at Freiburg at the weekend, but Vincent Kompany sounded positive about his potential return. While this clash will likely be billed as Mbappe vs Kane should the England captain return, it’s Bayern’s superstar Frenchman who has caught the eye ahead of this one.
Michael Olise was brought off the bench with Bayern trailing at the weekend, and he set up their equaliser in added time in that victory. The former Crystal Palace man has an incredible return of 11 goals and 18 assists in the Bundesliga this season, while he’s struck another three in Europe.
Olise found the net twice at Atalanta when Kane missed out, before adding another against Union Berlin ahead of the international break. While he didn’t score against Freiburg, he finished with 0.58 Expected Goals off the bench. The Frenchman is capable of causing problems out wide, and he’s a standout in the goalscorer betting at over 2/1.
