Real Madrid vs Valladolid Predictions

  • Real Madrid kept 21 clean sheets in La Liga last season
  • Real Madrid were unbeaten at home in La Liga last term
  • Real Valladolid scored with their only shot on target against Espanyol last time out

Real Madrid after a response to Mallorca draw

Real Madrid made an underwhelming start to their La Liga title defence last Sunday, drawing 1-1 away to Mallorca, but they should pick up their first win of the season against Real Valladolid.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men made the perfect start to their league opener, leading Mallorca after just 13 minutes through Rodrygo but they failed to add to their lead.

And Vedat Muriqi equalised for Mallorca in the second half with the hosts holding on for three points.

Fatigue could well have played its part for a Madrid team full of players who were in international action over the summer and Ancelotti will be after a response this Sunday.

Valladolid could be shut out at Santiago Bernabeu

Newly promoted Real Valladolid began the season with a 1-0 win over Espanyol on Monday night but it was not the most convincing performance and they were up against a side who also played in the Segunda Division last term.

Valladolid scored with their only shot on target in that game and they could be shut out by a Madrid defence which was imperious in 2023-24.

Indeed, Real Madrid conceded just 26 goals in 38 league fixtures last season and kept a division-best 21 clean sheets.

A Real Madrid win to nil is the way to go, while in terms of a scoreline, 2-0 to Los Blancos looks a solid pick.
