Goals won’t come easy to western rivals
After a promising start, Real Salt Lake have hit a flat spot in their season with four draws in their last six coming into Sunday’s meeting with Los Angeles FC.
The Claret-and-Cobalt are undefeated in four straight outings at home, but failed to beat two of the sides just above them in the playoff hunt when drawing 1-1 against both Minnesota United and Houston Dynamo.
The visit of Bob Bradley’s men – who have suffered three straight road defeats – offers an obvious opportunity to pick up their third home victory of the season.
Only four teams in the west have scored fewer times than LAFC this season and a mere 25% of their goals have come on the road, so this looks like being a tough ask for them to win.
Yet they are the favourites in the match result betting and both teams to score is much shorter than both teams to score No.
Neither of those bets look worthwhile to us for this Sunday’s game which may end up in another stalemate for RSL.
We prefer the look of Under 2.5 goals, which has landed in three of the last five Salt Lake home games, at a nice odds against price.
A 1-1 draw may be the ultimate outcome of this clash between teams that currently lack the firepower to convince us they can win in these circumstances.
