Red Star Belgrade vs Midtjylland Predictions

  • Red Star are unbeaten in a whopping 47 matches at home in all competitions.
  • The hosts have never lost to a Danish opponent in seven meetings.
  • Midtjylland have lost four of their last five Europa League away games including qualifiers.

Unbeatable in Belgrade

Red Star boast an impressive record on home soil remaining unbeaten since a 6-0 loss against Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stage back in November 2019.

In fact, they haven’t lost a game at home in this competition since a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal over four years ago.

A 2-1 defeat away to Radnik in the Serbian Super Liga on October 27th  is the only blemish on Red Star’s recent record with the Belgrade club winning 12 of their last 15 matches.

That run started with a 4-0 victory at home over CFR Cluj back in August where their Europa League qualifying journey began and with seven points from their first three group games, Red Star find themselves top of Group F.

Danes weak on their travels

Midtjylland meanwhile, are still awaiting their first win in this season’s competition but have drawn two of their three matches, albeit both points were picked up at home.

The Danish club were beaten 3-1 in their opening away game of the campaign at Braga and were dumped out of Champions League qualifying in the summer by PSV losing both legs. The first of which ended 3-0 on the road in Holland.

Red Star to exact revenge

Despite leading for most of the second-half, Belgrade left Denmark with just a point two weeks back. However, their scintillating home form is set to continue as they more than held their own in the first encounter. Four of Red Star’s seven straight wins at home have come by two goals or more and a 3-1 win here looks appetising.
