Reims have now lost their last two matches in all competitions as they followed up their 1-0 defeat to Lorient in Ligue 1 last weekend with a 4-3 defeat in the cup at home to lower-league opposition. Lens played out a goalless draw last weekend but knocked Nantes out of the Coupe de France in midweek to make it three wins on the run away from home.

These two sides played out an epic 4-4 draw in November’s reverse league fixture, but four of their last seven encounters have produced under 2.5 goals and we’re expecting a much less action-packed game this weekend. Lens sit 8pts clear of Reims and have impressed so far this season, especially with their performances on the road.

Each of those victories for Lens have arrived on their travels, something Reims will be concerned about. Another reason we are expecting a tight game between the pair this time around is the fact that four of Reims’ last five fixtures have produced under 2.5 goals and the same can be said for three of Lens’ last six matches.

We’re predicting that under 2.5 goals will be scored in this weekend’s clash, but have backed Lens to pinch a 1-0 win. The visitors look sharp on the road this season and will be looking to make it four away wins on the run this Saturday.
