Rampant Rennes ready to go again

What a season it has been for hosts Rennes. They come into this fixture knowing that whatever happens, they’ll finish the matchday occupying third place in the table and as a result, the final Champions League place. They’re currently on a run of seven games unbeaten in Ligue 1. They also possess a solid home record under boss Bruno Génésio. They’ve won their last seven home matches and they’ll feel confident about claiming three more points when they welcome a reformed Monaco.

Philippe Clement’s methods appear to be bearing fruit as his Monaco side have put together three consecutive victories in the league for the first time since October and it’s taken them to within a single point of the top five. However, despite their overall good form, it’s away from home that they need to improve as they are yet to achieve back-to-back wins on the road this season. They’re the underdogs heading into this one and they’ve lost three of their last four Ligue 1 away games when they’ve been the betting outsiders.

This has all the makings of an enthralling clash. However, Rennes have been utterly dominant in front of their home fans and another three points here would do wonders for their Champions League ambitions. Monaco do not travel well and we think the value is with Rennes to get the win here.
