Rennes Backed to Overcome Travel-Sick Nice

Rennes can be backed to win at home to Nice on Sunday. The visitors have lost three times in their last four away games in Ligue 1 and could be heading for more disappointment here.

Rennes are ninth in Ligue 1, one place above Nice, but the two sides are level on points. Rennes have won two, drawn five and lost one of their eight games this season, while Nice have three wins, two draws and three defeats.

Rennes are in good form. They have only lost one of their last eight matches in Ligue 1 and are unbeaten in their four home games this season.

It would be no surprise to see Rennes score – they have scored at least twice in four of their last five Ligue 1 games.

Their recent results do not inspire confidence. They have failed to win six of their last seven Ligue 1 away games and have not won any of their three away games this season.

The visitors have been vulnerable defensively recently. Nice have yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season, conceding at least twice in all three of their Ligue 1 road games. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last ten league matches.

Rennes may be able to edge out Nice in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Six of Nice’s eight matches in the league this season have seen both teams score, and there should be goals for both sides here as well.
