Goals on the agenda at Roazhon Park

Rennes and Nice have been involved in plenty of goalscoring action lately and that looks set to continue when they meet at Roazhon Park on Saturday. Nice have scored in 25 of their last 26 league games, and both teams to score had come in by half time when these sides last clashed in January.

Nice are seven places above Rennes in the table and have 19 points more than their hosts. Rennes sit 11th with 12 wins from their 32 games, while Nice are fourth having won 16 of their 32 matches.

Rennes are finding life tough, having sustained two successive Ligue 1 reverses, but Nice have recorded three victories in the last four head-to-heads between the sides and were 3-1 winners over Paris Saint-Germain in their last away game two weeks ago.

Rennes lost 2-1 to Toulouse last weekend, in what was Toulouse’s first win in seven Ligue 1 games. Rennes had their chances, but failed to make the most of them, and were priced as 23/10 outsiders to win the game. The defeat maintained Rennes’ run of matches with both teams scoring.

The defences have been leaky of late, with both sides enduring lengthy runs without keeping a clean sheet. Rennes have gone five games since their last shutout, while Nice have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last ten away games.

The visitors possess a serious attacking threat. Nice have scored two or more goals in 17 of their 32 games this season and only four teams have more than the 60 goals they have scored in Ligue 1.

Both teams have found the net in plenty of the away team’s games this season. 16 of Nice’s last 19 away games in Ligue 1 have ended with BTTS as a winning bet.

Rennes’ last four Ligue 1 matches have each produced over 2.5 goals and Nice have won two of their last three games by a single goal. A 2-1 away win for Nice looks like a decent correct-score option.
