Romania vs Armenia Predictions
- Armenia has scored just twice in their four away games this qualifying campaign.
- Romania has won two of their three home games, narrowly losing to Germany.
- The hosts have seen fewer than three goals in four of their last five games.
Tight battle in Bucharest
The hosts looked like they were on course to achieving a shock win away to Germany as they took the lead after just 10 minutes. But second-half goals from Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller saw the Romanians earn their third defeat of the campaign.
They sit fourth in Group J after collecting 10 points in seven games, but they can jump ahead of Armenia should they beat them here.
Armenia started their campaign with three wins on the bounce and looked like a well-drilled side. However, they have failed to win any of their four subsequent games, including a draw with Iceland on Friday.
Joaquin Caparros’ side will be wary of giving anything away, knowing the ramifications if they fall to a defeat here, and will build their attacks off the back of a strong and organised backline.
There is a lot on the line here and both of these sides have strong defensive units. Whilst victory would be extremely helpful to both, defeat could prove disastrous. As such, a low scoring draw could be a likely outcome so we’re expecting these two to play out a cagey affair with goals coming at a premium.
