Ross County vs Celtic Predictions
- Celtic have won 11 straight games against Ross County
- Celtic have scored 11 goals across their three Premiership away fixtures this season
- Ross County have scored six goals in their last three matches
Staggies lock horns with the champions
Ross County will attempt to halt an 11-game losing streak against Celtic when they host the Scottish champions in the Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
The Staggies’ last positive result against the Hoops was the 1-0 home win in February 2021 that precipitated Neil Lennon’s resignation after Celtic fell 18 points behind Rangers in the title race.
Two of last season’s three encounters were both won to nil and, although the Dingwall outfit were competitive in 1-0 and 4-2 defeats at Parkhead, Brendan Rodgers’ side ran out easy 3-0 winners at Global Energy Stadium.
Dortmund defeat may have opened a crack or two
The home side will hope that Borussia Dortmund, who thrashed Celtic 7-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday, have opened up some cracks in the visitors’ structure. The Hoops were 5-1 down at half-time and were probably relieved only to concede two more in the second half.
Rodgers will want his players to respond with an emphatic performance and there should be a few goals in this game. Celtic have scored 11 goals across their three Premiership away fixtures this season while Ross County shipped three at home to St Johnstone in their last home Premiership match.
But Dion Cowie’s men also scored three times in that game and have registered six goals across their last three league outings, so the chances of them getting a goal in what is still likely to be a defeat seem worthy of backing here.
