      Rotherham vs Bristol Rovers Predictions

      • Rotherham are current League 1’s second-best team in terms of recent form. They’ve won four and drawn two of their last six.
      • Only two teams have conceded fewer shots at home than Rotherham in League 1 this season.
      • Bristol Rovers have failed to score in 55% of their travelling matches in League 1 this term.

      Millers flying

If they weren’t before, Rotherham are now well and truly among the front runners for the League 1 title. For the first time in several months a team not named Wycombe are top of the third division and that team is of course the Millers.

Paul Warne’s men have really got it together of late, winning each of their last four. They’re also unbeaten in six. They’re delivering the goods offensively, scoring two or more in each of their last five, notching a total of 13 goals, while they’ve also been doing a good job of restricting teams at the other end, even if clean sheets have remained largely elusive. Rotherham have conceded just three goals in their last four and have conceded more than once in two of their last seven.

Recent home wins against Peterborough and Blackpool, in which they scored six and conceded just one, should leave the Millers feeling confident ahead of Saturday’s game against an out-of-form Bristol Rovers side.

      Rovers continue to struggle

Ben Garner’s teething period continued last time out, as Bristol Rovers slumped a defeat against Doncaster at home. The new man at the helm remains without a win despite having now overseen five league matches.

Things really haven’t gone Rovers’ way since the departure of Graham Coughlan. Saturday’s visitors are without a win in five, four of which they’ve failed to score in. It is a lack of goals that is really blighting the Gas at present. They’re by no means defending stoutly, as recent 3-0 and 2-0 losses suggest, but the main reason behind their lack of competitiveness has to be put down to their lack of forward potency.

      Straightforward task for the hosts

Recent efforts point towards this being another gilt-edged opportunity for the Millers to continue moving on up. Punters are advised to back them to do just that in the form of ‘Rotherham to Win & Over 3.5 Goals’. Rotherham have bettered their opponents in all areas this term, though we shouldn’t necessarily expect them to run riot. After all, they’ve only scored more than three goals in one of their last seven at home. Bristol Rovers are struggling for goals, which bodes well, though it also bodes well that they’ve not conceded more than three away from home this term, while they’ve only conceded more than twice in two out of 11. A routine, but less than massively high-scoring home win is the way to go.
