      Rotherham vs Cardiff Predictions

They suffered their first major set-back in midweek though. A 2-0 defeat at home to Hull brought to an end a 3 match winning streak and an unbeaten start to the season. The visitors are a strong side packed with Premier League experience and quality. Excluding an extra time defeat in the Capital One Cup to MK Dons, it was the first time they had been beaten in 5 months, which includes an unbeaten pre-season and a strong finish to the last one.

Russell Slade has really turned the club’s fortunes around after a turbulent couple of years and one defeat is unlikely to rock the boat too much. They have won 7 of their last 10 away games in the Championship, losing only once and look excellent value at 7/5 to beat winless Rotherham on Saturday. In many ways it could be the ideal game for them to get back on the right track.

The Millers have just 2 points from 7 games so far. They tend to play their part in matches but with a defence that has shipped 16 goals in the league already, it is hard to see them keeping Cardiff or indeed anyone at bay for long.

They have been well beaten by Fulham and MK Dons at the New York Stadium already this term and haven’t won a game in the league for almost 5 months. On the positive side they do score goals and have only failed to score once in 9 outings so far this season.

Therefore you can certainly see a goal for the home fans to celebrate but they will know it might not be enough and a Cardiff side that has been playing well should still have enough to secure a 2-1 win at 17/2.
