Salford City vs Forest Green Rovers Predictions
- Salford have only kept two clean sheets in their last nine home matches
- Both teams have scored in four of Forest Green’s last five games
- Salford have scored in ten of their last 12 league matches at Moor Lane
Can Salford push towards the top seven?
There are only six points separating Salford and the play-off positions thanks to a four match unbeaten run in which they have won three times, with both teams scoring on two occasions.
Gary Bowyer’s side are certainly making a late push towards the promotion positions, and they will fancy their chances against a Forest Green side who are in a bit of a sticky spell.
Their goalscoring will be key. The Ammies have only failed to net in two of their last dozen games at Moor Lane, but they have struggled to keep clean sheets against the sides at the top of the division.
Have Forest Green hit the buffers?
For the first time this season, Forest Green are finding wins hard to come by. They are four games without a victory and have started conceding goals, failing to keep a clean sheet in five.
Rob Edwards’ side still have a healthy lead at the top of the table, but their form will be a bit of a concern as performances have certainly dropped off, with both teams scoring in their last four on their travels.
In Jamille Matt and Matt Stevens, though, they still have two of the best strikers in the division, making them a fearsome prospect for any defence.
Indeed, Rovers, who have lost just once on the road, have netted in 16 of their 17 away matches.
I think we can expect goals in this game, so I predict that both teams will score, but these two may cancel each other out in a 1-1 draw.
