      Salford City Draw No Bet

      Reason for tip

Salford performed admirably to hold Peterborough to a goalless draw to set up this replay, so they’ll hope to end their rotten scoreless run to cause an upset against promotion-chasing Posh back on home soil.

      Salford City 1-0

      Reason for tip

Each of Salford’s last six competitive games produced under 2.5 total goals and this one could be equally tight and tense. In fact, the hosts’ last four games ended 0-0 or 1-0 either way.

      Salford City vs Peterborough Predictions

      • Salford can equal their club record FA Cup stage if they make the second round.
      • Peterborough are in the midst of a serious promotion push in League One.
      • Peterborough lost eight of their last ten competitive away games.

Salford can equal a club record

Having only made the second stage of the FA Cup on four prior occasions in club history, Salford are eyeing a repeat after performing admirably in a 0-0 draw at Peterborough to set up this first round replay.

Salford have been faltering in the league and are winless in their last four competitive games and while they haven’t even scored in over six hours of play, they’ll be hopeful of turning it around at a big price against League One’s Peterborough United.

Posh looked to be taking the three points at the weekend as they went ahead against Exeter in the 81st minute only to concede twice in the closing stages to lose. That defeat knocked Peterborough off their stride and they’ll likely prioritise the weekend clash with Bristol Rovers over an unlikely FA Cup run.

Back a small scale “giant” killing

It’s hard to back Peterborough at the prices even though they enter this clash in the superior form and they play a level above Salford. The visitors showed in the first encounter, and a recent EFL Trophy defeat at Wycombe, that they may not have the cup competitions at the top of their agenda.

As such, we’re going for a draw no bet selection on Salford, we are staying away from the attractive price on the W-D-W markets given Salford’s woeful frontline, but they should have enough to give Posh a run for their money here.

Each of Salford’s last six matches produced under 2.5 goals and we’re expecting another low scoring affair here, so we’re rounding off our selections with a small stakes play on a 1-0 home win in the correct score market.
