      Sampdoria vs Frosinone Predictions

Most pundits would have expected Sampdoria to steer clear of trouble this season, but instead the club is hovering dangerously close to the relegation places. Despite Éder hitting 12 goals this season Sampdoria are in grave danger of slipping out of Serie A and they need to start picking up results soon. A winless run of eight matches has seen them sleepwalk towards the drop, with Éder having left the club to join Inter on loan.

Frosinone were written off as being goners when they first dropped into Serie A’s relegation zone, but coach Roberto Stellone has overseen a recent revival with his side winning two of their last four matches to boost their chances of securing a second season in the top flight. Frosinone’s first ever Serie A campaign was always going to be a steep learning curve, but the club are finally adapting to the higher level.

      Reason for Betting Tips

Games between struggling sides are often tight and tense affairs with few goals scored, but all the signs point to Sampdoria’s home match against Frosinone going against the grain. Over 2.5 goals has come in seven times in a row when Frosinone have been on the road, while eight of Sampdoria’s last nine games have also feaured over 2.5 goals. It therefore looks to be a no-brained to take over 2.5 goals at 7/10 with bet365. A correct score is harder to pin down due to the struggles of these two sides, but Frosinone are in slightly better form and could have the edge. Frosinone to win 2-1 at 14/1 with bet365 may therefore be worth a nibble.

      Head-to-Head

Sampdoria are hosting Frosinone for the first ever time in Serie A. In the reverse fixture between the sides, which was played in mid-October, Frosinone were 2-0 winners thanks to a quickfire double scored by Luca Paganini and Federico Dionisi early in the second half.

      Statistics

Sampdoria are without a win in their last eight matches and have conceded at least twice in eight of their previous nine fixtures, while Frosinone’s last seven away games have all seen over 2.5 goals scored.

      Team News

Sampdoria: Pedro Pereira, Jacopo Sala and Carlos Carbonero all miss this key match for Sampdoria due to injury, with Fabio Quagliarella expected to continue his role as a lone striker.

Frosinone: Adriano Russo is Frosinone’s only injury concern, while Aleksandar Tonev will be vying with Danilo Soddimo for a starting place.
