Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

San Jose are the highest home scorers in the MLS but they also concede regularly and they could be involved in another entertaining clash with FC Dallas after the two teams played out a six-goal thriller when they last met in June – San Jose winning that one 4-2.

      San Jose 2-1

      Reason for tip

San Jose tend to be involved in open games and with FC Dallas having conceded two or more goals in each of their last five fixtures, the Earthquakes are fancied to edge to victory in a game where both teams find the back of the net.

San Jose vs FC Dallas Predictions

      • San Jose are the highest home scorers in this season’s MLS
      • Only two teams have a worse home defensive record than the Earthquakes
      • FC Dallas have conceded two or more goals in each of their last five games

      Earthquakes provide plenty of entertainment

San Jose Earthquakes have been one of the most entertaining sides in MLS this season, particularly on their own patch, as no team has scored more home goals than Bruce Arena’s side (27).

However, the Earthquakes also leak goals on home soil, as only two teams, CF Montreal (22) and Sporting Kansas City (23) have conceded more on their own patch than their tally of 19.

Both teams have scored in each of San Jose’s last seven games – home or away – and that run includes last month’s 4-2 win away to FC Dallas.

      Dallas have been leaking goals

June’s 4-2 home defeat to San Jose forms part of a run that has seen FC Dallas concede two or more goals in each of their last five matches.

Eric Quill’s side have kept only one clean-sheet in 14 matches across all competitions, but they have scored in nine of those games and they can contribute to a high-scoring contest at PayPal Park.

Both teams have scored in each of the last 11 meetings between these sides – with over 2.5 goals proving a winning bet in the last three of those – so more of the same could play out on Thursday, with a 2-1 home win standing out for San Jose.
