San Jose Earthquakes vs St Louis City Predictions
- St Louis have lost five of their last six away games
- The visitors have won only four of their last 13 games in MLS
- San Jose are unbeaten in 10 home league games, winning seven
St Louis need a boost
After making a brilliant start to their maiden MLS season, things have turned for St Louis. The visitors remain second in the Western Conference, but they’ve suffered three defeats in four starts to find themselves as the underdogs ahead of this visit to San Jose.
St Louis claimed a victory in each of their first five MLS games, but that run ended in late March and they’ve won just four times in 13 league games since, with each of those wins coming at home. Having lost four consecutive away games across all competitions, the visitors are in a tough spot ahead of this trip.
Earthquakes look solid at home
It’s easy to have some questions over a San Jose side that head into the weekend on the back of a 4-1 loss to Houston Dynamo. However, the Earthquakes have built their solid season off the back of some strong results at home. They’ve won seven times in 19 league games, with six of those coming at home.
San Jose are unbeaten in their last 10 home MLS games, winning seven. They can capitalise on a St Louis side who are out of form, with the visitors losing five of their last six away trips. The hosts will be out to avenge a 3-0 loss during the visitors’ hot start in the league, so back the Earthquakes to take all three points.
