One of German football’s greatest rivalries rears it’s head once again as Schalke welcome bitter rivals Borussia Dortmund for the 100th Bundesliga edition of the Revierderby.

This promises to be an intriguing encounter despite both sides battling at opposite ends of the table, with Schalke unbeaten since the half-way stage of the season.

The only other Bundesliga side to avoid defeat since the half-way point is in fact Dortmund, although their perfect ten-game competitive winning start to 2023 was cruelly ended at the hands of Chelsea in midweek as they were eliminated from the Champions League.

The Royal Blues are potentially one win away from escaping the relegation zone depending on results elsewhere, but they may have to settle for a draw at best against this quality of opposition.
