SCR Altach vs Sturm Graz Predictions

Rheindorf Altach finished fourth in last seasons Bundesliga but look set to end the current campaign in eighth place, even if they win on the final day. Victory was always going to be a tough ask for the hosts on Sunday as they take on the leagues runners-up Sturm Graz who currently sit thirty-two points above them. The visitors arrive as the favourites to take all three points, but don’t have anything left to play for, which could work in Altach’s favour.

When the pair locked horns for their reverse league fixture back in March a solitary goal proved enough to hand all three points to the hosts Sturm Graz. Alar netted what turned out to be the winning goal in the sixteenth minute after good work from teammate Edomwonyi. Altach created just as many goal scoring opportunities during the ninety minute, but Graz had 60% of the overall possession and just did enough to deserve their victory. Any chance of a comeback for the visitors faded in the sixty-ninth minute when Rheindorf attacker Ngwat-Mahop picked up two yellow cards in less than a minute.

With four wins and two defeats from their last six matches it’s visitors Sturm Graz who claim the title of clear form favourites ahead of Sunday’s final round of games in this seasons Bundesliga. Rheindorf Altach’s last six results have gone the complete opposite to their guests, with Sunday;s hosts picking up two wins and suffering four defeats in their last six matches. We’re backing goals to be scored in this game as four of each clubs last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Four of the last six matches played out between the pair have also seen at least three goals scored, and neither team have kept many clean sheets of late. The hosts have managed one clean sheet in their last six games, while Sturm Graz have kept two, all of which is a good sign that we will be treated to a few goals on Sunday.

Rheindorf Altach, as of yet, don’t boast a single player into double figures in league goals this season, with Aigner out in front on eight for Sunday’s hosts. Alar has already surpassed the total of goals he scored for Graz last season, and currently sits on twenty Bundesliga goals ahead of the final game of the season.

We’re confident that this game will feature over 2.5 goals, as both teams have been involved in a majority of recent games which have seen at least three goals scored. As for a final score, we’re backing this game to end in a 2-2 draw as Rheindorf have something to play for on Sunday, albeit faint, but Sturm are a tough side to beat and should get on the scoreboard a couple of times at the very least.

Rheindorf Predicted Lineup: Lukse, Schreiner, Zwischenbrugger, Netzer, Salomon, Meilinger, Ngwat-Mahop, Gebauer, Oum Gwet, Grbic, Cheukoua.

Sturm Graz Predicted Lineup: Siebenhandl, Schrammel, Koch, Spendlhofer, Maresic, Jantscher, Hierländer, Röcher, Lovric, Alar, Edomwonyi.
