Out-of-shape attacks don’t promise entertainment

Harrogate Town’s seven-match winless run has seen them fail to score on five occasions and not net multiple goals in a single game during that sequence, a remarkable downturn for a side which hit three goals in each of their previous three, and have only been outscored by six other fourth-tier outfits this term.

Indeed, Harrogate have managed just three league goals in their last seven outings, and have failed to score in each of their last three fourth-tier road trips. Simon Weaver’s men have also been shut out on seven of their last 10 away outings, with their newfound goalscoring issues presenting an even greater challenge away from Yorkshire.

Indeed, under 2.5 goals have been scored in six of Scunthorpe’s last 11 games and in four of Harrogate’s last seven, and looks to be the smart play for Saturday. Meanwhile, a 1-0 win for the visitors could be a decent correct score prediction, given the dire straights in which Keith Hill’s hosts find themselves.
