Seattle Sounders vs San Jose Earthquakes Betting Tips & Predictions

Seattle Sounders endured a torrid start to the season as they slumped to defeat in each of their first three outings in the MLS after being knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions League, but they eventually started to turn it around.

They got their first win against Canadian rivals Montreal Impact on matchday four before drawing with Houston Dynamo and winning against Philadelphia Union. They lost to the in form Colorado Rapids a couple of weekends ago, but managed to bounce back with a 1-0 win over MLS Cup finalists Columbus Crew on Saturday.

Seattle Sounders’ resurgence after this dreadful start hasn’t been enough to sort their Western Conference position out though. They come into this match in 9th position. They do have at least one game in hand over all but two of the teams above them and are only seven points off the leaders though, so they definitely aren’t out of any races yet.

San Jose Earthquakes missed out on the MLS Playoffs last season after finishing in 7th, but they have started this season well and show definite signs of improvement.

They began with back to back wins against Colorado Rapids and MLS Champions Portland Timbers before a defeat to LA Galaxy halted their run. Since then they have won two, drawn three, and lost one of their league matches.

Away from home San Jose Earthquakes have yet to win this season, although to be fair to them they have faced some tough opposition on the road. Despite their winless status and tough opponents they have still managed to score at least once in each of their away games and overall have netted in every match so far this season.

Seattle Sounders have conceded a goal in three of their five home games this season and have seen both teams hit the back of the net in five of their eight games so far. This makes odds of 19/20 for Both Teams to Score look very good value to me, and I’m backing that alongside a 2-1 win for Seattle Sounders at 15/2.
