Sevilla primed for victory?

Sevilla came back down to earth with a bump last weekend, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona that ended a run of one defeat in nine since the World Cup.

Jorge Sampaoli’s side are almost a different team now to pre-Qatar, with their last three home games all ending in victory.

Two of those, against Elche and Getafe, have been accompanied by a clean sheet, and they come having not tasted victory in any of their opening seven league fixtures at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Mallorca struggle on the road

Mallorca on the other hand might have beaten Real Madrid 1-0 at home last weekend, but they have lost three away matches in a row, all of them without scoring.

Indeed, Javier Aguirre’s side have been defeated in half of their ten matches on the road and since returning to La Liga in 2021, they have only registered six wins on their travels, along with five draws and 18 defeats.

They are boosted by the return from suspension of Copete for this game, but that doesn’t really boost a struggling attacking unit who are without Jaume Costa, himself banned.
