Shakhtar Donetsk To Win To Nil

      Reason for tip

Shakhtar have kept a clean-sheet in four of their five Europa League qualifiers this season and should prove too strong for a Panathinaikos team that have won only one of their last seven away matches in continental competition.

      Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0

      Reason for tip

Shakhtar beat Besiktas 2-0 in the previous round of qualifying at this very stadium and they can replicate that scoreline against a Panathinaikos team with a poor recent away record in Europe and that lost 2-0 at Rangers in their last continental road fixture.

      Shakhtar Donetsk vs Panathinaikos Predictions

      • Shakhtar Donetsk have kept a clean-sheet in four of their five Europa League qualifiers
      • Panathinaikos have failed to score in two of their three European matches this season
      • The Greeks have won just one of their last seven away matches in Europe

All to play for in Krakow

After playing out a goalless draw during last week’s first-leg in Athens, Shakhtar Donetsk and Panathinaikos will head to Krakow for what is essentially a one-off tie.

This may not be Shakhtar’s regular home, but they showed that they like their surroundings at Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium after beating Besiktas 2-0 there in the previous round of qualifying.

Arda Turan’s side are unbeaten this season across all competitions, including in Europa League qualifying where they have registered three wins and four clean-sheets from their five games.

      Greeks struggle on the road

Panathinaikos have already been eliminated from one continental competition, losing 3-1 on aggregate to Rangers in Champions League qualifying, and they have failed to score in two of their three European qualifiers this season.

The omens are not good for Rui Vitoria and his side, as Panathinaikos have only won one of their last seven away matches in Europe, with that sole success coming against The New Saints in last season’s Conference League.

This looks a tall order for the Greeks, who lost 2-0 in their away clash with Rangers, and a similar result could play out in Krakow, with Shakhtar having enough quality to reach the Europa League play-off round.
