Shamrock Rovers to Win

Reason for tip

It’s all to play for at Tallaght Stadium, where Shamrock Rovers need a point on Friday to seal the Irish Premier Division title. Rovers have won their last eight domestic home games while Shelbourne have failed to win their last three domestic away matches, losing two, and look increasingly unlikely to qualify for Europe again.

Shamrock Rovers 2-1

Reason for tip

Shamrock Rovers have won their last two league matches 2-1 and can secure a repeat scoreline against a Shels side that they beat 2-1 when they last met in June.

Shamrock Rovers vs Shelbourne Predictions

  • Shamrock Rovers need a point on Friday to seal the Irish Premier Division title
  • Shamrock Rovers have won their last eight domestic home games
  • Shelbourne have failed to win their last three domestic away matches, losing two

Shamrock Rovers should soon be in clover

Shamrock Rovers’ march to a fifth Premier Division title in six years looks likely to be complete on Friday when they entertain mid-table Shelbourne at Tallaght Stadium.

Rovers need just a point at home to the current champions to seal the win and the recent form lines of the two clubs suggests they should achieve their goal – and in some style.

Stephen Bradley’s side have won their last eight domestic home games, including a 6-1 cup thrashing of Kerry at the weekend that keeps them on course for the double.

Shels’ Euro hopes suffered a setback

Meanwhile, Shels have lost two of their last three away games and look like a team who have put their entire focus on the Conference League campaign now. They are four points off third place, which is a spot in next season’s Conference League qualifiers, so still have something to play for in the league.

But a 2-1 defeat to Drogheda United last month was a damaging setback and they may not have recovered enough confidence from a 0-0 draw with BK Hacken to compete with this rampant Rovers side.

Back the hosts to pick up all three points with a 2-1 victory, which is the same score they recently earned to beat both Bohemians and Waterford.
