Sheffield United to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

The Blades have won eight of their last ten Championship games with at least three goals in three of the last four. Meanwhile, Stoke have lost seven of their last 12 league games, including the last two.

Sheffield United 2-0

Reason for tip

Stoke are in a goalscoring rut at the moment with back-to-back blanks while the Blades have been scoring goals – ten in their last five games to average two per match.

Blades can cut through ponderous Potters

Sheffield United can continue their rich vein of form against a Stoke side that have big problems up front. The Blades will look to keep the pressure on leaders Burnley this weekend by beating the Potters at Bramall lane – where they have won three of their last four league games.

Paul Heckingbottom’s men have won eight of their last ten overall and added the scalp of fellow Championship promotion-chasers Millwall in the FA Cup last weekend.

United’s squad has been stretched thin at times over that period but they are gradually getting players back to fitness now with Heckingbottom revealing that two more could be available this weekend.

City’s striker recall a slap in the face

Stoke’s problems worsened this week when Manchester City called time on Liam Delap’s loan and instantly sent him to Preston, which is hardly a ringing endorsement for the club or Alex Neil.

The Potters have failed to score in their last two games – both 1-0 home defeats – and it might be accurate to expect something similar here, but the Blades have been turning it on for their fans of late and surely won’t stop attacking when they get the first goal.

Iliman Ndiaye has been in fine form, albeit without any recent goals, but one player who has been hitting h back of the net is midfielder James McAtee, who can be backed at around 3/1 to make it three goals in his last four games on Saturday.  A 2-0 home win is preferred in correct score betting as Stoke are in a rut at the moment while the Blades have been playing some fluent stuff.
