Sheffield Wednesday

      Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds Predictions

The Owls are having a brilliant season and are right in contention for the play-off places. They’ve won 5 of their last 6 matches in all competitions and their 3-2 midweek win over Bolton leaves them in 7th place and only 2 points below Brighton, who are falling rapidly. A win here will see Sheffield Wednesday move into the top six and that will be some incentive for the home players who are likely to be backed by a large crowd at Hillsborough.

Leeds were also on a really good run but their 8 match unbeaten streak was ended with a 2-1 defeat at Ipswich last time out. They would have moved into the top half with 3 points at Portman Road and their current 15th place doesn’t really do justice to how well they’ve been playing of late and some of the talent that is in this side.

They could be about to lose one of their brightest stars though with youngster Sam Byram said to be on the verge of a £4million move to Everton.

This game is always fiercely contested and with both clubs in better shape than they have been for some time we could see a really good game here. Both teams have scored in all of the last 4 Championship games involving Leeds and there have been 16 goals in the last 4 matches at Hillsborough with both teams scoring in 3 of them. Therefore there is reason to back both teams to score at Evens here.

Sheffield Wednesday have lost just 1 of their 17 home games this season and that was against league leaders MIddlesbrough. They’ve won all of those last 4 on home soil scoring 12 goals in the process and they look the more likely winners of what should be a closely contested match here so consider backing a 2-1 home win at 15/2.
