Don’t bank against the hosts

Sheriff lost 3-1 at Inter last month, but don’t count them out in this Champions League group. The Moldovan side remain top of the standings thanks to their shock win at Real Madrid and they remain a threat ahead of Inter’s visit this week.

Sheriff won 2-0 in their opening home game after Shakhtar, before winning at Real and scoring in that loss to Inter. They seem to pack a threat going forward which these top European sides can’t stop, while they’re unbeaten at home in Europe since losing to Tottenham in 2013/14.

Inter are obviously a step up for the Moldovan side and the visitors are worthy favourites and they come here after winning three of their last four and drawing the other against Juventus. Inter had 29 shots in the home meeting with Sheriff and they’ll get chances here, but I also see the hosts scoring. There’s good value available on both teams to score.

Inter Milan have only lost one of their last five away games in the Champions League and they should prove to be too strong for Sheriff, so back a 2-1 away victory.
