Shrewsbury vs Bury Predictions
Having gone on such a run without a win, Bury have certainly improved in the results department of late, but they remain a team that is defensively weak and are conceding far too many goals. It’s fair to say that defence has definitely been The Shakers downfall this season. On the other hand, Shrewsbury, despite their lowly standing, have defended well of late and have also been picking up some good results.
At odds of 11/8, backing the hosts to come out on top here looks the best bet. Defence could win this match and it’s fair to say that Shrewsbury are the only team out of these two who’re performing with credit at the back of late.
The hosts come into this match with plenty of solid home form behind them and have now managed to keep seven clean sheets in their last eight matches at New Meadow. Such stats bode really well ahead of this fixture, that’s for sure. If The Shrews can continue to keep things nice and tight at the back then there’s absolutely every chance that they’ll be capable of getting past a Bury back-line that really has been woeful this season.
Having conceded no less than 31 goals away and 27 goals at home, Bury boast the divisions’ worst defensive record and have really struggled to keep teams out. They’re useful going forward, but it’s fancied that they could find it tough to get past a Shrewsbury defence that has been resolute on their own patch in recent times.
As touched on above, defending could play a massive part in this one and it’s just impossible to see Bury keeping anyone out right now. With this in mind, Shrewsbury, who really have defended with great credit recently, are the team to side with.
