Shrewsbury currently sit in 18^th position in the League One table, just six points above the bottom four. You’d expect a team in lingering just above the drop zone would be shipping plenty of goals on a regular basis. Surprisingly Shrewsbury have the third best defence in League One this season – only Rotherham and Wigan have conceded fewer goals than Shrewsbury this campaign. Steve Cotterill’s side have been tough to breakdown this season, particularly at home where they have only lost six times all season in the league – four of these defeats came against sides who currently occupy spots in the league’s top eight.

Morecambe’s League One stay could be short lived

Morecambe were favourites to finish bottom of League One this season, in a season which is their first ever in English football’s third tier, they have made a better fist of it than many had expected. Things are looking bleak for The Shrimps who are on a ten-match winless run, they have lost their form at just the wrong time. The return of Derek Adams has yet to galvanise the side, they haven’t won any of the three matches since his return to the club.

A home win is expected here, and it ranks as one of my stronger fancies on Tuesday’s League One card. Morecambe have taken ten points from 18 away League One matches this season, scoring just 19 goals in those fixtures, they can expect little change from a resolute Shrewsbury back line on Tuesday.
