Bologna to Win

Reason for tip

Bologna won three of their four away league phase games and can seize a first leg advantage in their play-off with Brann. The Norwegian outfit failed to win any of their final five league phase games and have only been playing in this competition since their domestic season ended in November, and that lack of regular competitive action may work against them as they face a Bologna side who only narrowly missed out om a top eight finish.

Bologna 2-1

Reason for tip

Bologna have managed just one clean sheet in their last 21 games across all competitions so Brann can keep this tie fairly close by getting on the scoresheet. The visitors have only scored more than twice in two of their last 20 away games so a 2-1 away win has a chance.

SK Brann vs Bologna Predictions

  • Bologna won three of their four league phase away games
  • Bologna have suffered just one defeat in the Europa League
  • Brann have only played three competitive games since the end of November

Bologna can strike first in Norway

Bologna missed out on a top eight finish in the league phase of the Europa League by just one point and now have to navigate a play-off tie with Brann.

Brann failed to win any of their final five league phase assignments and scraped through in 24th place with nine points on the board. The Norwegian side did manage to hold Bologna to a 0-0 draw in Italy back in November and that should give them a bit of belief ahead of this two-legged play-off, but it would be a huge upset regardless if they were to eliminate the Italian outfit.

Bologna’s form domestically has tailed off but they have little left to play for in Serie A and should be fully focused on this competition. I Rossoblù were among the best travellers in the league phase with three wins from four trips, and they look well placed to win in Norway against a side who haven’t played a great deal of competitive football since their domestic season concluded at the end of November.

Brann can at least keep this tie fairly close and get on the scoresheet in Bergen as Bologna have managed just one clean sheet in their last 21 games across all competitions. The visitors have only scored more than twice in two of their last 20 away games so a 2-1 away win has a chance in the correct score market.
