SK Brann vs Haugesund Predictions
- Brann have won five of their last seven home league games with both teams scoring in three of the last four
- Both teams have scored in four of Haugesund’s last six away games, three of which were defeats
- Brann have won the last three head-to-head meetings, scoring multiple goals on each occasion
Back Brann to bounce back
Brann will attempt to rekindle their title challenge against relegation-threatened Haugesund when they return to their home fortress in Bergen on Saturday.
Eirik Horneland’s side lost their first Eliteserien game since May last weekend and it was as damaging a defeat as it could be against leaders Bodo-Glimt.
Second-placed Brann were reduced to 10 men after just 10 minutes of the contest when midfielder Sivert Heltne Nilsen received two quickfire cautions. They then completely capitulated to the reigning champions and were sent away with theory tails between their legs after a 5-1 hammering.
Haugesund had a worrying loss last week
How much psychological damage that has done remains to be seen but Brann are not a team of young, inexperienced players and should be able to shake off the disappointment in time to put it right against Haugesund.
The visitors have lost two of their last three away games, at third-placed Molde and sixth-placed Stromsgodset. But, more worrying for their fans, will be the nature of their 2-1 home defeat to second-bottom Sarpsborg last week.
Expect Brann to bounce back in this one and grab a couple of goals into the bargain, which they have done in the majority of their home games this year, but Haugesund are capable of getting on the scoresheet too in a narrow defeat.
