Slavia end winless run in dramatic fashion

Slavia pulled off a dramatic late turnaround last weekend as they scored twice in the final five minutes to reverse a 2-1 deficit at Vitebsk, ending a three match winless streak and pushing them up to 7th in the table.

However, that victory also highlighted their main problem this season – a complete absence of defensive ability. They conceded more than one goal for the third time in a row, and they have the third worst defensive record in the top flight after conceding 12 in their opening seven games.

Torpedo Zhodino will be hoping to take advantage of this, especially after their emphatic victory away to FC Minsk last weekend. They stunned their hosts as they went 3-0 up by half-time and, while Minsk improved after the break, the final scoreline of 5-2 told a story of Torpedo dominance.

This leaves the visitors second in the Belarus top flight, just two points behind surprise leaders Slutsk and coming into this match on the back of a four match unbeaten streak.
