Slovakia vs Belarus Betting Tips

Slovakia’s 0-0 draw with 3^rd placed Ukraine on matchday 7 of the Euro 2016 qualifiers kept the chasing nation at bay with just two more games remaining.

Slovakia are in 2^nd position in Group C with 19 points from their eight group games with three points separating them from 3^rd place Ukraine, who play against Macedonia on Friday.

But with Ukraine facing a visit from group leaders Spain on the final matchday and Slovakia facing a Luxembourg side who have only picked up four points, a win against Belarus on Friday could all but wrap their qualification to Euro 2016 up.

Should all the top three sides win on Friday, as is expected, then Slovakia would go into the final game two points behind Spain and three points ahead of Ukraine. This means that only a loss to Luxembourg and a win for Ukraine would allow the 3^rd placed team to leapfrog them.

Slovakia’s only loss of the campaign came in the match before their draw with Ukraine, when a visit to Spain saw them come away with a 2-0 defeat under their belts.

Before that they had won every match in the group stages, including a home match against Spain and an away game against Ukraine.

Belarus’ 2-0 win over Luxembourg in their last match saw their points tally increase to seven from the first eight games of the group.

This leaves them in 4^th position, but Ukraine are out of reach in 3^rd place with a nine point advantage and two games remaining.

Belarus’ other points came in a 2-1 win at Macedonia and a 1-1 draw in Luxembourg, and they will be expecting to pick up another three when they host Macedonia in the final round of games on Monday.

I’m expecting a comfortable win for Slovakia to be honest, and considering they won the away match against Belarus 3-1 I think odds of 11/8 for a Slovakia -1 Handicap Win are excellent value.
