Tip Reasoning

  • South Korea are unbeaten in four of their last five home games against South American teams.
  • Chile lost three of their last four internationals.
  • Brazil were the first side to beat South Korea on their own turf in over four years.

Korea can regain their home dominance

After enduring their first home defeat in over four years last time out against Brazil (1-5), South Korea look to bounce back against this relatively experimental Chile setup.

Prior to that game, South Korea won three and drawn one of the prior four home games against South American opposition, so bouncing back is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility, especially with the likes of Hwang Ui-Jo and Heung-Min Son amongst the attacking ranks.

The Chilean rebuild begins

After failing to qualify for the World Cup, Chile have opted to go for a less experienced squad as they look to redefine themselves in the eyes of the international footballing communinty.

This is manager Eduardo Berizzo’s managerial debut for Chile, but he may be up against it here in Seoul as they attempt to end a rotten run of seven consecutive conceded goals without reply.

We predict that South Korea have it in them to stop the new manager bounce and win this game as their preparations for the World Cup finals continues. As for the correct score, we think this may well be a narrow 2-1 home win.
